Butler's fourth career triple double featured 19 points

Messaggiodi Helena il 8 aprile 2017, 1:49

The Bulls, Miami and Indiana entered the night with 38-40 records and in a three-way tie for seventh in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Butler had his fourth career triple-double.
Jimmy Butler had Authentic Jason Motte Womens Jersey 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and helped give Chicago's playoff hopes a needed boost in the Bulls' 102-90 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.
Rondo was hurt Tuesday night in a loss to New York.
Rajon Rondo sat out with a sprained right wrist and Dwyane Wade missed another game with a fractured right elbow. Wade, who scrimmaged on Wednesday for the first time since he was injured on March 15, could return as early as Saturday's game at Brooklyn. Wade, who averaged 18.6 points in his first season with his hometown team, had been ruled out for the season. But Wade was worked hard at joining the team minus any serious setbacks.
With Rondo and Wade sidelined, the Bulls still cruised against the lowly http://www.officialrockieshop.com/authentic-51-jake-mcgee-jersey.html Sixers. Jerian Grant scored 15 points starting for Rondo, Nikola Mirotic scored 22 and the Bulls took a 14-point lead in the first half.
Before Wade's injury, the Bulls ranked 24th in the league in offensive efficiency, 103.8 points per 100 possessions, according to ESPN Stats & Information. In the 10 games he missed heading into Thursday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Bulls are averaging 108.6 per 100 possessions, which ranks 14th in the league. The Bulls' net efficiency rating over the last 10 games is +3.5, compared to -1.9.
One of the more noticeable changes without Wade on the floor is that the Bulls are taking more 3-pointers. The Bulls were last in the league, making 32.4 percent of their 3-pointers, through March 15. Since the injury, the Bulls are shooting 39.4 percent from beyond the arc and 43 percent over their last five games at the United Center.
The numbers show the Bulls' offensive efficiency improves when Dwyane Wade isn't on the floor, but his teammates say his intangibles more than make up for it.
Interestingly, before Wade's injury, the Bulls were taking 28.7 percent of their shots from midrange, good for second most in that area in the league. Since that March 15 contest, just 24.3 percent of the Bulls shots have come from midrange. It shouldn't come as a surprise that Wade has taken 39.1 percent of his shots from midrange, the highest percentage on the team.
Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg has repeatedly praised Rondo for his ability to push the tempo of the game since being re-inserted into the starting lineup in a March 13 win over the Charlotte Hornets. To that point, the Bulls are averaging 26.7 assists a game since the injury, compared to 21.8 assists prior to it.
"It has not been preached," Bulls point guard Rajon Rondo said, while discussing the uptick in 3-point numbers. "Just maybe the flow and rhythm of the game. No one's saying, "OK, DWade's out, shoot more 3s."
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot led the Sixers with 18 points.
The Bulls wasted a major opportunity when they lost to New York and could not afford a second straight road defeat to an Eastern Conference also-ran. The Bulls, who hold a tiebreaker over the Heat and the Pacers, improved to 7-4 since they lost Wade.
The Sixers gave up 141 points Tuesday against Brooklyn and their defense was only slightly better against the Bulls. The Bulls seemed on the brink of missing the postseason for a second straight year just a few weeks ago. Mirotic hit his fifth 3 of the game late in the fourth to make it 97-82 and the Bulls firmed up a playoff spot with two key cogs set to return http://www.authenticmetshop.com/authentic-16-dwight-gooden-jersey.html. Butler earned his 10th assist on Mirotic's sixth three to clinch his fourth career triple-double.
And Jerian Grant started for Rajon Rondo, who suffered a sprained right wrist in Tuesday's loss to the Knicks, and posted 15 points and eight assists.
An MRI exam confirmed the Rondo sprain, and Rondo is day-to-day. The Bulls play again on Saturday at the Nets.
Teammates remain confident in Grant, who not only provides floor spacing but also must be the primary defensive force. The 76ers scored a ridiculous 70 points in the paint in an embarrassing home loss for the Bulls on March 24.
"I just want him to know that he can not be afraid to make a mistake," Butler said. "Go out there and play hard, guard your man, shoot the ball, be aggressive. That’s what we need. We don’t need you to try and throw me the ball every single time. That’s not the right basketball play. So if you can take your man, if you can get a basket, by all means please do that."
"A true sign of the MVP is what your team is without him. Look at our numbers when Jimmy [Butler] is on the floor—we're really good. And he makes other guys better," Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg said, per Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune. "That's the thing this year with putting the ball in his hands as much as we have, [he's] not only creating for himself but he's making the right play and getting the ball to other guys and setting them up for easy shots, whether it's Robin [Lopez] at the rim or Denzel [Valentine] in the corner, making good, simple plays. [Butler] just continues to grow his game. And his durability is something that you marvel at."
While missing just six games, Jimmy Butler has logged 37.1 minutes per contest. And that makes it even more meaningful that he's helping improve the Bulls' net rating by a staggering 10.7 points per 100 possessions when he's on the floor.
Without the shooting http://www.authenticmetshop.com/authentic-45-zack-wheeler-jersey.html guard-turned-small forward, the Bulls would be deep into the lottery portion of the Eastern Conference standings. But because he's made so many strides as an offensive standout—his own scoring chops have improved while he still looks to get everyone involved with quality offerings—they're still fighting for a postseason berth even as injuries and ineffective rotation members pile up.
Now, just think of what Butler might be able to do if he were operating in a system that actually suits his talents. He's been able to do all this despite working with a group of guards and wings who simply can't space out the floor for his incessant drives toward the teeth of a defense.
The Bulls aren't aiming for style points, only victories.
